Instructions for authors

Thank you in order to choose for submitting your paper to “Journal of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Engineering Faculty”. This instruction will ensure that we have everything required so your paper can move through peer review, production and publication smoothly. Please take the time to read and follow them as closely as possible, as doing so will ensure your paper matches the journal’s requirements.

Journal of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Engineering Faculty uses open journal system to peer review paper submissions.

Within the scope of the journal, original research articles and reviews in English are published in all branches of Basic and Natural Science, Engineering and Technology.

A manuscript sent to the journal by the author(s) are subject to the reviewing process. At the end of the peer-review process, the accepted papers are published.

The authors are fully responsible for the content, scope and all data of the published papers. The manuscript sent to the journal by the author(s) should not be neither published nor publishing process in another journal. By sending the manuscript to the journal, the corresponding author is deemed to have accepted that the paper has not been published and/or has not been publishing process elsewhere before. In addition, in the preparation and writing of the paper sent by the author(s), the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) should be taken into account, following the national and international ethical rules. In this context, it is necessary to pay attention to research and publication ethics by the author(s). Copyrights of paper accepted to be published in Journal of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Engineering Faculty are deemed to be transferred to the journal.

Manuscript preparation

1) Please ensure the quality of your written English is of a high standard prior to submission.

2) Authors must submit editable Word source file, including all tables and figures as appropriate.

General guidelines

  • Manuscripts are accepted only in English. The UK English spelling and punctuation is preferred. For all manuscripts non-discriminatory language is mandatory. Sexist or racist terms should not be used.
  • Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text; acknowledgments; references.
  • Abstracts of 120 words are required for all manuscripts submitted.
  • Each manuscript should have 3 to 12 keywords.
  • Section headings should be concise and numbered sequentially, using a decimal system for subsections.
  • All authors of a manuscript should include their full name, affiliation and ORCID ID on the first page of the manuscript. One author should be identified as the corresponding author. The affiliations of all named co-authors should be the affiliation where the research was conducted. If any of the named co-authors moves affiliation during the peer review process, the new affiliation can be given as a footnote. Please note that no changes to affiliation can be made after the manuscript is accepted.
  • Please supply all details required by any funding and grant-awarding bodies in a separate paragraph.
  • Author(s) must use to SI units. Units are not italicized.
  • When using a word which is or is asserted to be a proprietary term or trademark, authors must use the symbol ® or TM.

UK spelling is preferred.

Punctuation preferences

  • Initialisms (e.g. TRY) must not include full points.
  • Spaced initials in text, e.g. K.M. Can.

Title

Title of the manuscript should be informative and short, since the number of words in the title should be limited to words that highlight the important content of the manuscript. Title’s typing style is given at below:

References

The references should be formatted exactly in the APA style. See below for more details.

The references should only include works that are cited in the article and that are published or accepted for publication. Unpublished results and information obtained through articles and personal communications are not recommended for use as reference. The printed stage in the resources, if any, should be given a DOI number. 

References should be cited in the text by name and year in parentheses.

Reference entries should be listed in alphabetical order by the last names of the first author of each work. All references cited and reference’s name of the author, journal name/book title, section title/article title, year of publication, volume number/book chapters, and paging should be available. Abbreviated journal names and book titles can be used in references. URLs for the references should be provided if they are available. Ethical guidelines for Author(s)

  • The manuscript of author(s) must promise that their manuscript is their own original work. Moreover, Author(s) must promise that they do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity, and cannot be construed as plagiarizing any other published work, including their own previously published work. Author(s) are fully responsible for the content, scope and all data of the published of their article.
  • The manuscript of Author(s) are equally responsible for the content of a submitted manuscript or published article.
  • Author(s) must not submit their same research or manuscript to more than one journal.
  • People who have made important scientific or literary contributions to the manuscript should be named as co-authors.
  • If it is required that author(s) must provide to access to data sets described in the manuscript.
  • Authors are required to obtain all necessary official and documented ethical approvals for the studies that require ethics committee permission. It must provide, including informed consent from the client(s) or patient(s) being studied.

Copyright

Copyrights of paper accepted to be published in Journal of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Engineering Faculty are deemed to be transferred to the journal.

It is a condition of publication that all contributing authors grant to Orclever / Journal of Nuh Naci Yazgan University Engineering Faculty the necessary rights to the copyright in all articles submitted to the Journal. Authors are required to sign an Article Publishing Agreement / Copyright Agreement to facilitate this.

Ethics Committee Permission

It was elaborated in 2020 on the Code of Ethics, assuming that the permissions were obtained for studies requiring ethical committee permission in the field of research, the issue of “providing information about permission in the article” was added to the criteria of the journals in the TR Dizin.

Detailed information on the subject is given below:
 
QUESTION 1: Is ethics committee permission required for all articles?
No. It is also stated in the criteria as articles requiring “Ethics Committee Permission”.
The researches requiring the permission of the Ethics Committee are as follows.
  • Any research carried out with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques,
  • Use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
  • Clinical researches on humans,
  • Researches on animals,
  • Retrospective studies in accordance with the law of protection of personal data,
Also;
  • In the case reports, it is stated that the “informed consent form” was taken,
  • Obtaining and specifying the permission of the owners for the use of scales, surveys and photographs of others,
  • Stating that the copyright regulations are complied with for the ideas and works of art used
     
QUESTION 2: Should retrospective ethical Board Permission be obtained for publications produced from the study and thesis completed in previous years?
Before 2020, research data has been used, produced from postgraduate / doctoral studies (should be specified in the article), and the articles that have been submitted to the journal for the previous year, have not received retrospective ethics permission.
 
QUESTION 3: Are these restrictions imposed on publications outside the universities with these rules of TR Dizin?
No. Researchers who are not members of the university can also apply to the Ethics Committees in their region.
